Riffat Sultana channels the musical wisdom of 500 years and eleven generations of master vocalists from India and Pakistan. Daughter of legendary classical singer, the late Maestro Ustad Salamat Ali Khan.

She is a long celebrated and distinguished singer who is the first woman from her family's musical lineage to publicly.

Peter Warren, Riffat Sultana and Sukhawat Ali Khan, of Baraka Moon, continue their longterm collaboration with the soulful and rhythmically electric, Raga Sun. 

Raga Sun’s high-energy spiritual dance music originates in Qawwali (Sufi) music, and is mixed with classical, ambient and African grooves. 

Peter Warren brings 30 years experience of performing with African and Indian artists with a unique percussion/drumset style.

Sukhawat Ali Khan is the son of vocal legend Salamat Ali Khan. Drummer and bandleader, The band features a variety of Multi instrumentalists including Meiron Egger, Ruti Celli, and Richard Michos.

Riffat Sultana worked with Miles Copeland to produce the album "Shabaz" in 2001. This album was released on Mondo Melodia Records/Ark21, a label owned by Miles Copeland that gained praise and attention for its success in world music. The Shabaz project was a more electronic and Western fusion approach to Riffat Sultana's music, which synthesizes this with her work as the Ali Khan Band. perform in the west.
